Water Meter Replacement
In March 2016, the City of Euless began a water meter replacement program designed to update existing water meters city wide. This process should take about one year to complete. We appreciate your understanding as we make this transition to better manage our water resources.
You will not need to be home at the time your meter is replaced and your water service will only be interrupted briefly. The project is being funded through a low interest loan from the Texas Water Development Board as part of its Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.
Replacement process - In March, the City's contractor, Utiliuse will begin replacing existing water meters throughout the city. Prior to your meter being replaced, you'll be notified approximately 48 hours in advance with a door hanger on your front door. The notification will include contact information for the contractor and the City as well as related instructions should your individual situation require any special arrangements.
Water Meter Access - The installation technicians, who will be wearing badges and vests, must have access to your water meter box to complete the meter exchange. Typically, water meters are located in the front yard of residential properties, near the curb. Technicians will not need to enter your home.
Water Meter Exchange – While you do not need to be home during the meter exchange, a technician will knock on your door to notify anyone present that the exchange is about to begin. During the exchange your water will be temporarily shut off for approximately 10-15 minutes while the new water meter is installed. Typically, all work is done within the existing water meter box, all necessary repairs are completed and each meter box is returned to its pre-existing condition. Once the installation is completed the technician will run a few gallons of water from an outdoor spigot to test the new meter.
After meter change out - If you encounter any issues, City representatives are available Monday through Friday by calling 817-685-1580, and for after business hours emergencies at 817-685-1526.

Will they need to enter my backyard?
Most water meters are located in the front yard of residential properties near the curb. Technicians will not need to enter your home. Some water spigots may be located in the side yard or backyard and technicians may need access to this area only to test the new meter.
How long will my water be turned off?
There will be a temporary service interruption during the meter replacement.
